Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, PC is seeking a full-time Orthopedic Physician Assistant. You will work independently, with physician oversight along with an outstanding, experienced support staff.

Responsibilities include:
- Formulate a diagnosis from assessments conducted within the clinic setting.
- Examine and diagnose patients and develops treatment plans.
- Document treatment plans in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physician and documents physician guidance as needed.
- Coordinate care for patients.
- Perform inpatient and outpatient consults as needed.
- Assist Orthopedic Surgeon in surgery.
- Provide comprehensive and continuing medical care for patients.
- Initiate requests for laboratory tests and x-rays, as appropriate.
- Prepare and document appropriate history, physical examinations and diagnosis.
- Initiate requests for tests and imaging as appropriate.
- Prescribe medications, as appropriate.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
- Physician Assistant license from Indiana.
- Basic Life Support, certified by American Heart Association
- 2+ years relevant clinical experience preferred; will consider recent graduates.
- Ability to communicate with patients, primary care team members and management staff
- Ability to make care decisions based on best medical practices without direct supervision or guidance by a physician
- Basic technical proficiency in the use of computer programs for medical records or internet search for clinical practice
- Advanced assessment and treatment plan implementation skills
- Ability to complete clinical care lifting in a provider office environment
