Dr. Keith Pitchford of Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine has been highlighted in an article by NWI Times as the Railcats Chief Doctor since 2002.

He is responsible for providing assessments when a player is injured and also setting expectations for recovery to the Railcat’s manager Greg Tagert.

The manager needs to understand how long the player is likely to be out of the lineup.

Dr. Pitchford also performs physicals in the spring season on each incoming player.  He also performs physicals on any player that is about to sign a contract.

The article also features quotes from some of the players and the Railcat’s manager who have fully experienced the physical assessment process and/or recovery from injuries.
