History of Great Lakes Orthopedics
& Sports Medicine, P.C.
With the size of his practice growing rapidly, Dr. Pitchford
realized that to better serve his beloved community additional
qualified and caring physicians were necessary. However, these
could not be just any physician, he wanted physician(s) that
would embrace the region and it's people as he did. In 2006,
Dr. Pitchford was proud to announce the relocation of the
Dyer, Indiana clinic to the new corporate headquarters of
Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, P.C. in their
state of the art facility which is more centrally located
in St. John, IN. The Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports
Medicine building which stands at 9615 Keilman Street, in
St. John, Indiana houses the corporation's main office, billing
department, 11 exam rooms, digital x-ray department, ultrasound
guided procedures, physical and occupational therapy departments
as well as it's new work conditioning program. Having all
of these complementary and synergic services under one roof
and with a focused shared vision to return the patient to
their fullest state of health while providing convenience
for the patient, brings to life another dimension of the philosophy
of Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, P.C. which
is to serve the greater Northwest Indiana region. Therefore,
in 2008 Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine welcomed
both Dr. Robert Anderson and Dr. Cynthia Lembcke Grundy and
then Orthopedic Sports Fellowship trained Dr. Jeffrey Staron
in August of 2011. The addition of Podiatry and Primary Care
Orthopedics further expanded the ability of Great Lakes Orthopedics
& Sports Medicine to meets the needs of an expanding patient
base.
