In summary, we specialize in sports medicine, namely injuries of the ACL, rotator cuff, meniscus repairs, complex instability of the knee, shoulder pain, elbow and hip pain. Other specialties include adolescent sports medicine, injury prevention for athletes of all ages, as well as shoulder and knee orthopedic expertise, and occupational health, foot and ankle orthopedics. We are here to care for you and to help you reach your maximum physical potential through a multi-faceted patient focused caring environment with professionals that aggressively seek to teach, train, repair, and support you as you “get back in the game.”
To provide the highest quality health care as efficiently as possible with the goal to return the patient to his or her previous level of function, to provide a safe and friendly environment for patients and their families, and to maintain the highest ethical standards.
With the size of his practice growing rapidly, Dr. Pitchford realized that to better serve his beloved community, additional qualified and caring physicians were necessary. However, these could not be just any physicians, he wanted them to embrace the region and it’s people as he did.
In 2006, Dr. Pitchford was proud to announce the relocation of the Dyer, Indiana clinic to the new corporate headquarters of Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, P.C. in their state-of-the-art facility which is more centrally located in St. John, IN. The Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine building which stands at 9615 Keilman St, in St. John, Indiana houses the corporation’s main office, billing department, 11 exam rooms, digital x-ray department, ultrasound guided procedures, physical and occupational therapy departments as well as it’s new work conditioning program.
Having all of these complementary and synergic services under one roof with a focused shared vision to return the patient to their fullest state of health while providing convenience for the patient, brings to life another dimension of the philosophy of Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, P.C. which is to serve the greater Northwest Indiana region.
